A coherent Encore build without redundant tooling.
Dependency cleanup with successful development and production builds.
Context
A Symfony frontend used Webpack Encore while also carrying a direct Vite dependency. Cleanup had to preserve packages that legitimately used Vite transitively.
Intervention
Removed the redundant direct Vite dependency while retaining the transitive dependencies required by Symfony UX Autocomplete and Vitest. Rebuilt both development and production assets with Encore 5.3.1.
Observed result
Recorded builds completed successfully and emitted 156 and 164 files respectively. The npm audit reported no vulnerabilities at the time of the check; a whatwg-encoding deprecation remained in a development dependency chain.
This is evidence from the February 2026 intervention, not a current security guarantee. No build-time reduction or application performance improvement was measured.
